Antonino Cirrincione

Major: Mechanical Engineering (2019)
Hometown: Arlington Heights, IL
Antonino joined the mechanical dynamics team in the fall of his junior year, and he immediately liked how much he could get involved. For example, Antonino frequently goes to the workshop and is always looking for opportunities to learn. This year he worked on the retaining ring for the suspension system. He had the opportunity to collaborate with University of Illinois professors and learned how to use new equipment, like the CNC mill, in the machine shop, and ultimately produced something to help the team. At the American Solar Challenge, Antonino will be problem solving with the mechanical team and supporting Argo in any way that he can! He’s looking forward to the challenge and knows that our team will do very well. Illini Solar Car is like a family to him. Antonino is also doing research with professors on explosives, and is the only person on the team who actually likes PTC Creo ©.

“The coolest part about Argo is that it is all composite materials and was designed to be as light as possible for the race, while also being able to go the distance that it can.”
