Jonathan Mullen
Jonathan, also one of our drivers for ASC, is thankful for the exceptional opportunities Illini Solar Car has provided him with, from joining in 2015 to now serving as the president. Working on different parts of the car has given him real-world experience with large engineering projects. One of his favorite projects was designing Argo’s cruise control. Road testing the cruise control for the first time was exciting because he was physically able to see the system he had worked on take over and drive him down the road by itself! Thanks to ISC he even had the opportunity to talk with Martin Eberhard [the co-founder of Tesla] about battery technology when he visited campus. At the American Solar Challenge, Jonathan is looking forward to seeing other teams’ cars and learning from them, as well as learning from Argo as they race. The scenery should be beautiful too!
