Michael Lally

Major: Computer Engineering (2019)
Hometown: Chicago, IL
Michael is a rising senior who has worked on Argo’s solar arrays for two years. He likes working with other Illini Solar Car students because they’re driven and passionate about the project. Building the solar array was a truly unique experience for Michael, as he was able to contribute to every step of the process and watch the completed array take shape! At the American Solar Challenge, Michael is looking forward to seeing the competing teams and believes that there’s still a lot we can learn from them. He will be helping with navigation and strategy for the race, as well as documenting parts of the drive on social media (make sure to follow Illini Solar Car’s media for his updates)! Michael has been studying abroad this past year and got a bronze medal at the British university nationals for ultimate frisbee.

“It’s great to be on a team of people that can pull together and make something notable from scratch, and that can go compete against some of the best in the world.”
